1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign up, we collect your email address and any name you provide. This is used to create and manage your account.

Market Profile

During onboarding, you provide information about your selling location (city, state), venue type, item categories, acquisition method, turnover preference, buyer profile, and experience level. This is the core of how PocketPrice personalizes pricing results for your specific market.

Pricing History

We store your price lookup history, including item descriptions, condition ratings, photos you submit, and the pricing estimates returned. We also store any price corrections you submit, which are used to improve future estimates for your profile.

Payment Information

Subscription payments and top-up purchases are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your plan.

Technical Data

We collect standard server log data including IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited. This is used for security monitoring and service improvement.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and maintain the PocketPrice service.
• To personalize pricing estimates to your specific venue type, region, and buyer profile.
• To improve the accuracy of future pricing estimates based on your corrections and feedback.
• To publish local market insights, such as the Local Heat Map and our price guides, built from combined data across many sellers (see below).
• To process payments and manage your subscription or top-up balance.
• To send transactional emails such as receipts and subscription notifications.
• To respond to support requests and account inquiries.
• To monitor for fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.

Combined Market Data

Lookups, items you add to inventory, and sales you log (category, price, and days to sell) are combined with those of other sellers in your region to show what sells and for how much. These numbers appear to other PocketPrice members on the Local Heat Map and publicly on our price guides. They never include your name, email, business name, or account, and we follow these rules:

• Results are shown only by broad region (for example, “Northeast”), never by city or seller.
• A local price is shown only once at least three different sellers are behind it.
• Each seller counts once in a local price, however many items they sell, so no one's own numbers can be read from it.
• Accounts that sell online only are left out.

To write each region's monthly market summary, we send our pricing provider (Anthropic, listed below) category totals and a short sample of item names and prices from that region, limited to a few items per seller and never with any account details. The summaries that come back name brands and styles, not sellers or individual items.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We use basic analytics and advertising measurement (see Cookies below) to understand how people find PocketPrice and whether our ads work.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers to operate the Service:

• Stripe — Payment processing. When you subscribe or purchase a top-up, your payment information is submitted directly to Stripe and is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase — Database and authentication. Your account data, market profile, and pricing history are stored securely on Supabase infrastructure.
• Anthropic — Pricing analysis. Item descriptions, photos, and your market profile are sent to Anthropic's API to generate pricing estimates, and combined regional data (described above) is sent to write monthly market summaries. Anthropic processes this data under their API usage policies. We do not share your name or email with Anthropic.
• Google Analytics — Site analytics. Records pages visited and actions such as signing up or subscribing, so we can see how the site is used.
• Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — Advertising measurement. The Meta Pixel records page visits and actions such as signing up or subscribing, so we can tell whether our ads bring in customers. We do not send Meta your name, email, item descriptions, or pricing history.

We may also disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of PocketPrice or others.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and pricing history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (for example, payment records may be retained for tax and accounting purposes). Market insights already published from combined data contain nothing that identifies you, so they are not removed, but your records stop counting toward them.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access your data — Your pricing history is visible in the app. Your market profile can be viewed and edited in Account settings.
• Correct your data — Update your market profile or account information at any time in Account settings.
• Delete your account — Request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing support@thepocketprice.com. We will process your request within 30 days.
• Opt out of emails — You may unsubscribe from non-transactional communications using the unsubscribe link in any email.

6. Cookies

PocketPrice uses essential session cookies for authentication and to keep you logged in. We also use cookies from Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to measure site traffic and ad results. You can block or clear these cookies in your browser settings, and you can manage ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication via Supabase, and payment processing via Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

PocketPrice is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
